After A Year Hiatus, The 79th Street Renaissance Festival Crawl Is Back — Now With Auburn Gresham Tours: Reprinted from Block Club Chicago by Atavia Reed, Sep 9, 2021; The decision to move forward with a safe and smaller version of the 79th Renaissance Festival was a decision of the community. The fest "done by the community and for the community" has attracted 25,000 attendees in the past and celebrates the beauty of Auburn Gresham.
Auburn Gresham boosted by annual festival: BY WENDELL HUTSON, Contributing Writer, The Citizen News Paper, Aug 21, 2019; he Auburn Gresham neighborhood on the South Side is known for a lot of things and one of them is the annual 79th Street Renaissance Festival. Now in its 14th year, the free, outdoor festival will run Sept. 7 and 8 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the corner of 79th Street and Racine Avenue to Loomis Avenue.
