COV19 Response and Health Equity Team Promotes Protect Chicago 77
The Greater Auburn Gresham Development Corporation' (GAGDC) COV19 Response and Health Equity Team on the ground to implement outreach strategies for the new "Protect Chicago 77 Campaign." On Thursday, September 23, 2021 they joined Mayor Lightfoot, CDPH Commissioner Arwady and other City and community leaders to announce the new citywide vaccine campaign.
"Protect Chicago 77 Campaign" is a new citywide campaign to promote community engagement and encourage vaccination rates in communities to reach at least 77 percent of all Chicago residents ages 12 and up by the end of the year. During the press conference, GAGDC was highlighted for its community efforts in addressing COVID-19 across greater Auburn Gresham, the neighborhood where the first COVID-19 death was recorded in Illinois. It was announced GAGDC was selected as the Protect Chicago 77 regional lead for the Near South Region.
GAGAC will work closely with Community Leads (see list below), who were also highlighted for thier efforts in addressing the COVID-19 pandemic across thier respective communities.

- South Chicago Community, Chicago Family Health Center
- South Shore Community, South Shore Works
- Woodlawn Community, Project Hood
