AmeriCorps Neighborhood Engagement and Data Analyst

The Greater Auburn Gresham Development Corporation (GAGDC) utilizes comprehensive community development strategies to revitalize low-to-moderate income communities. They are actively engaged in supporting five pillars of the community: 1) community engagement, 2) economic development,3) housing and senior services, 4) health and wellness and 5) educational initiatives. The GAGDC 2016 Quality of Life Plan(QoLP) set forth a vision built upon the history and culture of the community to provide the necessary healthcare, housing, educational opportunities, business development and public safety support. GAGDC works with the Auburn Gresham Neighborhood Network to achieve its mission and the bold goals also outlined in the community per the QoLP.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Greater Auburn Gresham Development Corporation (GAGDC) is seeking to hire a full-time AmeriCorps member who will have the role of Neighborhood Network Engagement and Data Analyst and is as an integral member of GAGDC (Communications, Operations, Relationship Management and Development) CORD team. The AmeriCorps member provides critical analytic support to the GAGDC Neighborhood Network CORD team and helps senior staff to assess agency performance and to make data-informed decisions regarding GAGDC mission, community needs and implementing our neighborhood quality of life plan (QolP) bold goals.
The AmeriCorps member facilitates communications with other neighborhood partner agencies; inputs and organizes data about AGNN performance, and engagement with Auburn Gresham United Way Neighborhood Network; and facilitates technical assistance and tracking of neighborhood taskforce activities. The AmeriCorps member also provides a range of essential administrative supports, both directly for the Director of Special Initiatives, Development Associate and Neighborhood Network Program Coordinator. In this capacity, the AmeriCorps member helps coordinate meetings and convening of Neighborhood Networks agencies and staff and will help implement a new design and process for engaging partner agencies and residents into the Auburn Gresham Neighborhood Network infrastructure, as part of the 2020-2021 network action plan. The AmeriCorps member also will support data entry activities to maintain GAGDC’s process for tracking engagement, donors and volunteers for the Auburn Gresham Neighborhood Network.

LOCATION: 7901 S. Racine. Chicago, IL 60620 (some virutal)
TRAVEL: Some offsite meetings throughout the Chicago region
DURATION: 12 months, August 2020–July 2021
STIPEND: $17,279 plus education voucher of $6,195 upon completion of service
Anticipated start date is Monday, October 5th

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Members will complete required orientations and trainings for UWMC and AmeriCorps; and participate in 360 evaluation with includes self-assessment as well as an assessment from site supervisor and program manager

The AmeriCorps member will work closely with the GAGDC Director of Special Initiatives, Program Manager and Development Associate to support the Auburn Gresham Neighborhood Network by providing:
1. Administrative supports needed to support neighborhood network program activities:
• AmeriCorps member will provide a variety of administrative supports, including assist with coordination of partner meetings, order supplies, ensure that rooms are prepared, refreshments ordered and coordinate surveys of participants as necessary.
2. Support of Data activities for documenting engagement of partners, donors, volunteers, and community taskforces:
• Entering data into database(s) for tracking clients, attendance, performance and funding activities
• Help create ways to enter data from existing Excel spreadsheets into database system
• Help generate and provide data reports about agency performance to a variety of stakeholders.
• Assist with marketing and communications to of Neighborhood Network program activities
REQUIREMENTS:
• Age 18 or over
• US Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident
• Minimum Associate’s Degree or equivalent
• Enrollment in CNCS AmeriCorps – www.nationalservice.gov/programs/americorps; enrollment is not required at time of application; UWMC can guide interested candidates through the process
• Minimum 1-3 years of related work experience
• Strong computer skills, especially in Excel, and the ability to learn and use data management software
• Some flexible weekday and weekend schedule to accommodate offsite community meetings

• Positive, can-do attitude and ability to work well with a variety of partner agency staff
• Attention to detail and ability to produce professional
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Experience performing data analysis and presenting results
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and to work independently and well in teams
• Experience working in the nonprofit / social service sector a plus
• Experience working in an office environment
• Professional demeanor, including in telephone and email communications
• Willingness to go above and beyond to support GAGDC and partner community agencies
