Oak Street Health Serves as Warming Centers for the Elderly

CHICAGO, IL (February 18, 2015) Bitter cold temperatures pose a serious threat to health and safety for older adults. In response to forecasted over night freezing temperatures Oak Street Health community centers will serve as warming centers for older adults to ensure that seniors are safe, warm and have access to resources and medical services.Urges Residents to take Safety Precautions during these frigid temperatures
On Wednesday, February 18th and Thursday, February 19th, from 9am to 5pm all seven Oak Street Health community centers in Portage Park, Edgewater, Bronzeville, Ashburn, Avalon Park, Berwyn and Blue Island will be open to all seniors as warming centers offering free coffee, hot chocolate, tea and entertainment for seniors.
Oak Street Health is a Chicago-based health care company that provides medical, dental, and social services to seniors on Medicare.
