GADC partnered with 17th Ward Alderman, Latasha Thomas, and CAPS to conduct a massive clean-up of the Auburn Gresham community along Morgan Way. This initiative was implemented in three phases from June through September 2005.
During the first phase the group worked with the Morganway Homeowners & Residents Association to clean from 67th Street to 87th Street & Morgan Way.

The City of Chicago completed repairs of all faded crosswalks, sweep cleaned the streets, cut weeds, trimmed trees and repaired parkways throughout this 20-block stretch.
GADC invited all residents to join in the effort and clean their front yards. In addition, this Group created and installed sturdy, attractive block club signs on all 20 blocks.
Two gardens on Morgan were enhance and all vacant lots cleaned. GADC supported families in need of additional support by assisting them with free lawn care and other services.

Strategy : Make arts, culture and open space a part of the Auburn-Gresham way of life through activities and events that touch the everyday lives of local residents.
Initiative: "Using the successful Morgan Way group as a model, encourage the organization of other block clubs to foster community beautification."
