Pillars of Auburn Gresham
Cornerstone for Community
The Pillars of Auburn Grisham is an 18-minute film to promote the neighborhood of Auburn Gresham, a community on the south side of Chicago. Through the generous support of the Richard H. Driehaus Foundation, Landmarks Illinois and Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago (NHS) are partners in Cornerstones for Community, an innovative program that utilizes historic preservation as a community development tool—working directly within communities to enhance the ethic for preserving neighborhoods and individual properties. One of the three projects included in this program.
Working with Optimus Inc., a creative services company, and the NHS of Chicago, Auburn Gresham office, the film includes interviews of local figures telling about the history of, and their personal involvement in, the Auburn Gresham neighborhood’s key significant places. The video will be used to instill a sense of pride, and also rebrand Auburn Gresham as a desirable location for homebuyers, small businesses and investors.
